New Asian Restaurants Bring Variety, Style & Fun to SPID Corridor
Over the past year or so, Corpus Christians have watched the transition of numerous 
restaurant properties along the SPID corridor, the most notable of which has been 
the emergence of Zodiac Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot near Weber, on the east side of 
the freeway. The expansive, ground-up built eatery is impressive inside and out, and 
diners have flocked to the new place to enjoy authentic, cook-at-your-table Kore-
an-style barbecue, traditional hot pot soup, and an amazing smoothie bar.
Start by choosing cook-you-own Korean BBQ or hot pot soup, and select your com-
bination of dozens of ingredients starting with beef, chicken, pork, or seafood, then 
vegetables spanning the full range from mushrooms and bamboo shoots, to sweet 
potatoes and lotus root. The quality and variety at Zodiac Pot are laudable, as is the 
beautiful, new facility. The city's only karaoke room is available by reservation.
The fantastic, newly rebuilt Osaki Asian Fusion Cuisine opened recently where the 
very popular Takeniwa stood for years. The fantastic new look is bright, open, and 
high-tech, and the food is exceptional, just like its predecessor. The vast sushi and 
sashimi selection offers something for every taste and preference. Take time to try 
one of many traditional, Japanese appetizers like goyoza, harumaki, or yakitori, or 
a delicious soup or salad, many of which are offered at Osaki. Asian fusion entrees 
range from Spicy Szechuan Steak to Creamy Walnut Shrimp.
The real show takes place in the hibachi room, which features new, high-tech cook-
ing stations where beef, seafood, and chicken hibachi are made in front of you. The 
newly designed Osaki also offers a large and comfortable private dining room, com-
plete with a large TV and sound system—perfect for company and political groups.
