South Texas Bone & Joint, formerly known as Orthopedic Associates of Corpus
Christi, has deep roots throughout the Coastal Bend. With more than half a cen-
tury of service and successive generations of practitioners and medical staff, the
organization has continued to grow. Its newest expansions include a 39-acre med-
ical-centric campus off the Crosstown Expressway near Holly Road in Corpus Chris-
ti, along with a new office located at Bay Area Medical Center, Suite 306. These
facilities reflect the practice’s commitment to growth and modernized care. The
Crosstown campus includes a state-of-the-art clinic, rehabilitation facility, in-house
laboratory, and diagnostic x-ray, ultrasound, bone densitometry, and electromyog-
raphy (EMG) department designed to provide patients with a streamlined, quali-
ty-centered experience. Adjacent to the clinic is an advanced orthopedic surgical
center, allowing patients to receive coordinated care from evaluation to surgery to
recovery—all in one place.
With a team of 15 physicians and 16 advanced practitioners, South Texas Bone
& Joint has become the leading sub-specialty orthopedic practice in the Coastal
Bend. The practice performs more than 6,000 surgeries each year and treats over
1,500 patients per week, offering a full spectrum of musculoskeletal care—from
complex surgical procedures to non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy,
orthobiologics, pain management, casting, bracing, and orthopedic trauma care.
Each physician is board-certified, fellowship-trained and has completed extensive
surgical training beyond medical school to specialize in their specific sub-specialty.
South Texas Bone & Joint’s patient-first vision is built around providing a seam-
less continuum of care: from initial evaluations and conservative non-surgical
treatments to rehabilitative therapy, sports medicine, trauma care, surgery, and
post-operative rehabilitation. Patients who seek care here are seen by providers
who focus on one or two specific areas of the body, allowing them to offer deeply
specialized expertise and targeted solutions for each patient’s pain or injury.
In a further commitment to excellence and convenience in patient care, we are
pleased to offer the Coastal Bend’s first Priority Care Clinics with walk-in, no ap-
pointment required, musculoskeletal-specific care designed with a focus on treat-
ing acute orthopedic injuries. Avoid spending your day waiting in an ER and visit
South Texas Bone & Joint for Board Certified Sports Medicine Physician care with
access to immediate x-ray technology and direct referrals to our surgeons if re-
quired. These walk-in clinics are currently located at 5917 Crosstown Expressway
SH 286 and 3702 South Alameda Street.
Additionally, the professional licensed Physical Therapy team strives for excellence
and promotes the highest quality patient outcomes. First opened in 2015, the PT
department has gained major momentum toward giving patients the highest
quality of one-on-one care and treatments. Our licensed staff combines the art
and science of physical medicine to aid in the development of optimal physical
performance. Utilizing evidence-based techniques, therapists design specific care
plans to help each patient reach their realistic personal goals. Improving quality of
life is the number one goal and priority at South Texas Bone & Joint.
