A Message from our Nueces County Judge
County Judge Connie Scott
Judge Scott was sworn into office as the 
Nueces County Judge on January 1, 2023, 
for a four year term. Judge Scott is a 
former representative in the Texas State 
House, a resourceful small businesswoman, 
an experienced policy leader, and a reform 
advocate who is committed to holding 
government accountable. Since taking 
office, she has been dedicated to ensuring 
that Nueces County government is 
transparent, accessible, and accountable to 
every resident, improving quality of 
life for all Nueces County citizens.
Welcome to the Coastal Bend!
It’s a privilege to welcome you to Nueces County, the 16th most populous 
county in the state. Corpus Christi serves as our county seat and is the city 
fondly referred to as the “Sparkling City by the Sea.”
I’m proud and honored to serve as your Nueces County Judge. Visitors 
will find good old-fashioned Texas hospitality here where people say “Hi” 
and smile as you pass them on the street. We have an abundance of great 
weather, and if you like seafood, then you’ll find we have some of the best on 
the Gulf Coast.
If you’re relocating here for work, a military assignment or retirement, 
you’ll soon know our citizens are the ones who make Nueces County such 
a great place to live, work, and raise a family or to simply enjoy your well-
earned retirement. 
There are more than a 100 miles of beaches and there is something for 
everyone from fishing, crabbing, surfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding to 
our treasures such as the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. And 
don’t forget our many outdoor markets, Buccaneer Days, and Hooks baseball 
games at Whataburger Field.
