PALMILLA BEACH GOLF
The Scottish links-style golf course that was originally designed by the legendary 
Arnold Palmer is now a 9-hole regulation course that offers three bonus holes on 
a short course. The setting is immersive, with three holes overlooking the dunes 
and the spectacular Gulf of Mexico, and the course design is challenging but play-
able. Facilities include a driving range and practice green, plus “The Loop,” a three-
hole short course. Play options are flexible and include 9-, 12-, 18-, and 21-hole 
rounds. Pro-shop on site along with Red’s Bar and the Black Marlin Bar & Grill.

NEW MEGA CANDY SHOP
In a move considered quite bold among some Port A locals, the long-time own-
ers of many of the town’s mega-sized souvenir and beachwear shops recently 
opened The Sugar Shack, directly across from the Port A Family Center on South 
Alister. The new, fun and inviting mega-candy shop is easily the largest in the 
entire Coastal Bend and stocks hundreds of varieties of candy and sweet treats, 
including just about everything you’ve ever heard of, and many you haven’t! De-
licious brownies and other baked goods are offered here, as well a full selection
