A Message from our Corpus Christi Mayor
Mayor Paulette Guajardo
Mayor Guajardo was elected in December
2020, defeating incumbent Mayor Joe
McComb in a hotly-contested runoff
election. The mayor served two terms as
City Councilmember At Large, one of two
on Council. Mayor Guajardo graduated
from Flour Bluff High School and from
Texas A&M Corpus Christi and previously
owned an insurance agency. Today she
proudly refers to herself as “Corpus
Christi’s Full Time Mayor.” She won a
third term in 2024, prevailing in a runoff
by 336 votes, the smallest margin ever.
Welcome home, welcome to Corpus Christi!
Whether you are taking in some of our historic character or maritime lore,
we are a charismatic community of outdoor adventure. With 223 sunny
days a year, the weather is as warm as the people who live here.
As Corpus Christi’s 58th Mayor, I work every day to move Corpus Christi
forward and serve the people, first and foremost. With over 326,000 resi-
dents and a $1 billion City budget, we are a flourishing city.
Corpus Christi is a land of rich tradition. We value our past and learn from it
to move progress forward. From the Texas State Aquarium to Tejano singing
legend Selena, our story’s fabric continues to be woven by the people and
natural wonders all around us.
There’s no place like home or Corpus Christi!
Paulette Guajardo
