Island desalination proposal. The AXE H2O plant will produce 150 MGD, versus 30,
providing a long-term, drought-proof, regional water solution. On the company’s
website, you will find an in-depth, scientifically-backed explanation for how they
can deliver water in 24 months at the lowest price in the U.S. for SWRO water, which
is the combined effect of a dedicated power source, advanced engineering, and
the assistance of the world’s most capable AI engine, the kind that has its own se-
curity clearance, implemented by some of those who invented it.
But this is Corpus Christi, and we with the gray hair know how it works here—elect-
ed officials operate based on their personal agendas, grievances, and peccadilloes.
That means that even in a water cri-
sis that is an existential threat to the
city itself, you can sit next to elected
officials and offer the cheapest water
in two years, with no taxpayer debt,
with no environmental opposition,
with no money upfront, and no obli-
gation if AXE H2O fails to deliver wa-
ter on time, and you will be told that
they do not trust the most educated
and capable man in the military and his assembled team of experts, and that it
sounds too good to be true. Now you know why Corpus Christi is failing.
The difference between all of our prior lost opportunities and this one is General
John Olson. This editor can attest that I have never met a more determined person
in my life. He is a man of action and zero delay, as we would all hope for and expect
from an American military leader of his caliber. AXE H2O will happen. The question
is whether Corpus Christi will once again miss a chance to take a huge leap forward
in our development—and in this moment, our very survival.
