b'P o r tA r a n s a sPORT A ART CENTER OFFERS WIDE VARIETY OF WORKSHOPS The Port Aransas Art Center has soared in success since the start of 2022, under fresh management that has resulted in the most work on display from the great-est number of area artists and photographers. Virtually all of the display space in the center is taken with work in a wide range of media, from watercolor and oil paintings, to bas relief and real life sculpture. Because the Art Center operates much like a commercial gallery, rather than a museum, as all items are for sale to the public, the financial viability of this non-profit organization has improved as well, along with that of the artists who display there.Of equal importance to the community, patrons and guests of the Port Aransas Art Center is the wide variety of educational workshops offered to the public. Curious, first-time painters will find a program there, as well as seasoned artists seeking to improve and expand their skills, or even apply their talent to a new medium. Workshops are great fun, and you get to meet fellow art enthusiasts!Over a typical week, three or four workshops of two to three hours each are of-fered on subjects that include: Fundamentals of Art, Acrylic Fluid Art, Watercolors, Flower Painting, Photography, Fun Art, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Skyscapes, and much more, as seasoned art instructors are available to lead workshops.Compared to other public art centers in the Coastal Bend, art enthusiasts com-ment that the Port Aransas Art Center is not too small or too large, its walls stay full and items rotate constantly as all work is available for sale, and perhaps most of all, like Port A itself, the Art Center is open and welcoming, and never stuffy! 104 North Alister St. in Port Aransas(361) 749-7334PortAransasArtCenter.org140THE COASTAL BEND GUIDE TheCoastalBend.com'
